Settled in the early 1800s by Scottish pioneers, these charming towns outside of Toronto boast heritage sites, natural beauty and seasonal festivals. The picturesque Elora Gorge with its limestone cliffs descending into the Grand River is a popular attraction, as is the Elora Gorge Conservation Area. Outdoor enthusiasts can cycle or walk part of the Trans-Canada Trail, which runs through Elora, as well as kayak, zip line or take a hot air balloon ride.
