Nathan Phillips Square

100 Queen St. W.
Toronto, Ontario M5H 2N1

Description provided by Editors

A central gathering spot in front of new City Hall (and across from Old City Hall). It hosts numerous gatherings throughout the year including concerts, farmers’ markets, holiday celebrations and more. Year-round the reflecting pool is a popular lunch spot for nearby office workers, and in winter it transforms into a large outdoor ice rink for skating. The expansive concrete arches over the pool are officially called the Freedom Arches in honour of individuals who have fought for freedom; at the southern base of the central arch is a piece of the Berlin Wall.
