Exhibitions look at the evolution of shoes through the ages—as fashion statements, indicators of social status, tribal origin and religion, and much more. Also among the museum’s holdings are shoes worn by celebrities such as Michael Jordan, Ella Fitzgerald, Farrah Fawcett, Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire, Lauren Bacall, Jimmy Stewart, Ava Gardner and Eminem.
