Description provided by Editors

Featuring predominantly Canadian art, the gallery connects the university’s cultural life to that of the wider community.

From May 2: Meryl McMaster: Confluence. Through self-portraiture, the artist examines themes of identity, self-expression, and storytelling.

From May 2: Noriko Shinohara: Cutie and Bullie. The New York-based artist tells the story of her turbulent relationship with husband Ushio Shinohara, known for his work as the “boxing painter”, in this series of manga-inspired comic strips.

From May 2: Maura Doyle: the Vessel, that with fugitive Articulation answer’d: how deep is your love? The artist approaches the humble pot’s long history as a household tool, as a poet’s muse and metaphor, and as an object of beauty.
