In 1899 the Chateau Lake Louise introduced professional mountain guiding to the Rockies. The tradition continues with half-day or full day hikes in the summer and cross-country skiing lessons and tours in the winter.
Some available summer hikes include: Lake Agnes & Tea House, Consolation Lakes or Saddleback Pass (half day); Plain of Six Glaciers, Larch Valley & Sentinel Pass, Helen Lake or Mt. Fairview (full day). Private hikes are available, but require seven days notice to book.
Some available winter activities include: cross-country ski lessons and tours; Powderfest and Night Owl snowshoeing tours (complete with headlamp); Johnston Canyon Icefalls ice walk. Heritage snowshoes, outerwear and boots are available upon request.
