Safely explore the Columbia Icefield world of millwells, seracs and crevasses 130 km north of Lake Louise with naturalist Peter Lemieux or one of his certified guides. Tours run daily from May to October and are 3 to 5.5 hrs long, departing from the glacier parking lot. All necessary gear is provided and guests should arrive 30 minutes early, dressed warmly. Reservations can be made online at icewalks.com.

The Columbia Icefield is the largest mass of ice in the Canadian Rockies stretching over 25 km across the Continental Divide and feeding the Atlantic, Arctic and Pacific oceans. The most accessible part of this incredible sight is the Athabasca Glacier which can be explored by guided walking tours through Athabasca Glacier Icewalks. Tours leave daily between late May and early October.
