Built in 1874, The original Fort Macleod served as the headquarters of the North West Mounted Police (NWMP). The Fort Museum, a re-creation of the original post, brings the story of the famous police force to life through historical re-enactments, hands on programs and interactive exhibits. The Centennial Building provides a look at traditional First Nations life and culture. Eight further galleries detail the history of the NWMP and Alberta’s pioneering history. Open Apr – Oct.
