Where to Eat

Hot Dining: Lil’ Baci Taverna Makes Friends in Midtown

Downtowners may joke that Toronto barely exists north of Bloor Street. One area that begs to differ is clustered near Yonge Street and Davisville Avenue; in particular, the strip offers a surprisingly diverse group of restaurants, whose ranks recently grew with the addition of Lil’ Baci Taverna. This bright and boisterous sibling of Leslieville fave Lil’ Baci is especially great for families—a sizable menu of southern Italian fare is designed to encourage sharing, with everything from seasonal small plates and salads like pickled octopus panzanella ($14.95) and heirloom beets with burrata ($14.95) to such larger offerings as pappardelle with duck ragu ($19.95) and market-fresh fish (priced daily). And with 20 vegetarian options, even the choosiest of eaters can go home full and happy.
