The Sultan’s Tent

Hot Dining: Exotic Ambience

Those of us who covet couscous, spiced lamb and mint tea have a new haunt in BerBer, a restaurant and lounge named for the indigenous peoples of North Africa that offers the cuisine and hospitality for which the region has long been known. This subterranean dinner-and-drinks den from the owners of The Sultan’s Tent is resplendent with hand-made furnishings and decor imported from Morocco—a luxurious setting in which to enjoy a three-course meal ($29.95) featuring flavours from Africa, Mediterranean Europe and the Middle East. Or make it a communal experience by ordering shareable platters. The lounge vibe kicks in Thursday to Saturday when DJs spin live tunes from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
