Josephson Opticians

Hot Shop: Josephson’s Specs Appeal

Even if you don’t have 20/20 vision, you can still look like a perfect 10. For 75 years, Josephson Opticians has been making four eyes a fashionable statement. Geeky Coke-bottle glasses have never adorned the face of a Josephson client—founder David and his wife Merryl made a habit of travelling to New York and Europe to hand pick stylish, cutting-edge frames from such designers as Alain Mikli, David Yurman and Lindberg. Now six locations strong, this luxe eyewear boutique is still family-owned and -operated with Dr. Josh Josephson, son of David and Merryl, at the helm, and their architect grandson Alex behind recent renovations at the flagship shop at Bay and Bloor streets. Here you’ll find not only a contemporary selection of spectacles, but also a historic display of vintage collectible eyewear.

Hot Shopping: Made for the Shade

Sunglasses aren’t just about looking good—though that’s important, too—they can also protect the sensitive skin around your eyes as well as your corneas from harmful UV rays. Don these hip frames to soak up the sun.
