Cool Clothes for Chilly Conditions

Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you should forsake all sense of style.
With this seasonal wear—everything from hats and boots to gloves and goggles—
you’ll be weather-ready whether you’re taking a stroll in a winter wonderland
or battling a blizzard.

Hot Shop: Mimran Family Business

A sense of style clearly runs in the Mimran family: Joseph Mimran was behind the Alfred Sung brand and his wife Kimberly Newport-Mimran is the designer of Pink Tartan. Now brother Saul and his twin offspring Jordin and Tamara have debuted their first line, Moon, available at The Bay. The collection of separates, dresses and outerwear is a hybrid of two other successful Mimran family endeavours, fusing the urban aesthetics of Club Monaco with the affordability of Joe Fresh Style. The premiere pieces are heavy on black and grey, such as the bow cardigan ($59) and Georgette tiered skirt ($39) pictured at right.

The label’s sophisticated and beautifully made designs embody a contemporary woman with impeccable style. Fashion Week Mainstage, 8 p.m.

Following his wife down the runway is Canadian style leader Joseph Mimran and his label Joe Fresh Style, which has garnered a cult following by offering affordable yet on-trend fashions and accessories for both adults and children. Mainstage, 9 p.m.

Shop the Shows
Find feminine dresses and tailored suit jackets by Pink Tartan at Yorkville’s TNT. This upscale retailer offers haute fashions from exclusive Canadian women’s- and menswear designers. Pink Tartan’s lady-like silhouettes can also be had at the Danforth’s Studio Labiri.
