William Shatner is the guest of honour at this year's Comiccon
For the first time ever, Ottawa is hosting this epic comic book/science fiction/video game/geek heaven convention. Anyone who spent their childhood living in imaginary worlds (or who still lives there) will be amazed to see their favourite characters living, breathing, walking, and talking. Fans dressed as popular superheroes, TV characters, aliens, and monsters will fill the CE Centre, and a costume contest and masquerade will give them a chance to show off their suits. A Magic: The Gathering card tournament offers a chance to battle it out in a competition that will undoubtedly feature the most serious gamers in the city, and comic book artists will be available to do on-the-spot sketches of favourite characters. On top of that, any kind of geek paraphernalia, from comic books and video games to clothing and art, will be available to purchase from more than 100 booths set up by exhibitors from Ottawa and beyond.
