Weekend Roundup, November 11 to 13

Saturday: Lang Lang tickles (and bashes) the ivories with the TSO (photo by Detlef Schneider)

Saturday, November 12
Award-winning piano prodigy Lang Lang joins the Toronto Symphony Orchestra to perform the works of Ludwig van Beethoven, with concertmaster Peter Oundjian conducting the show at Roy Thomson Hall.

Perk up your ears to the world-renowned Amadeus Choir, which presents Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace. The Hannaford Street Silver Band provides musical accompaniment for the performance at the Metropolitan United Church.

Cheap (read: less expensive) eats are on offer from restaurants on Elm Street—between Yonge and Bay—at the strip’s Ice, Wine & Dine event. In addition to discounted menu items from participating restaurants, there will also be holiday-themed live entertainment, including live jazz, a caricature artist and ice carving.
