Susan Hobbs Gallery Celebrates 20 Years with a Timely Group Show

Susan Hobbs Gallery Arnaud Maggs

Arnaud Maggs’ Scrapbook (1) is among the works displayed at Susan Hobbs Gallery’s 20th-anniversary exhibition.

FEBRUARY 7 TO MARCH 16  It’s a testament to the quality of the Toronto art scene that some of the city’s most venerable institutions can still be counted among its most vital. That’s certainly the case of Susan Hobbs Gallery, which celebrates its 20th anniversary with a group show exploring concepts of memory, time and accumulation. Featuring previous and new pieces by the gallery’s roster of acclaimed artists—Liz Magor, Ian Carr-Harris and the late Arnaud Maggs among them—the cannily curated display is a commemoration of history that also makes a point of looking forward.  —Craig Moy
