Enjoy Top-Quality Tapas at Patria

Patria Toronto

Patria brings Spanish style to King Street West

Charles Khabouth and Hanif Harji are at it again. The dining and nightlife impresarios recently opened the second restaurant of their high-profile King West collaboration. The first, Weslodge Saloon, is an upscale-trendy old-west bar and eatery; the latest, Patria, offers a similarly fashion-forward vibe in the form of a Spanish tapas joint. Within the boldly designed space—check out the cross-stitched feature wall—an ebullient crowd takes pleasure in an array of Latin-flavoured small plates and mains, from imported jamón ibérico ($30) to paella for the whole table ($40 to $48). The authenticity extends to the drinks menu, too, which features a number of private-order Spanish wines, plus a beer designed by Ferran Adrià.  —Craig Moy
