Mind Games

To March 21
Artist-founded Soulpepper Theatre Company kicks off its latest season with Tom Stoppard’s demanding and scholarly Travesties. A parody of Oscar Wilde’s The Important of Being Ernest, the unraveling mind of a geriatric British consular official blends history and literature as the ideas and lives of three revolutionaries from the 20th century—modernist author James Joyce, communist politician VLadimir Lenin and Dadaist founder Tristan Tzara—intertwine. Young Centre for the Performing Arts, Monday to Saturday 7:30 p.m., Saturday and select Wednesdays 1:30 p.m., $28 to $68; call 416-866-8666 for tickets.
