Hot Shopping: Lego Land

LEGO, the classic bricks and blocks toy, now has its own store at Sherway Gardens. The Danish company’s first Ontario store is a haven for young and old with more than four million single LEGO pieces in stock at any given time. Kids of all ages are encouraged to construct castles, houses, spaceships or anything else that comes to mind in the shop’s “Living Room” play space. Need more red or yellow bricks? Or perhaps it’s trees, robot arms or helmets you’re lacking? The “Pick a Brick” wall allows you to fill a bucket ($10.99 to $19.99) with all the bulk pieces you need. And for inspiration for your next big project, check out the portal displays of entire themed worlds built out of LEGO, including movie partnerships like Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and Star Wars.
