Hot Dining: Paese and La Palette Add Locations

Paese's new King Street West space

It’s easier to get a local taste now that two neighbourhood dining institutions have opened second locations in the trendiest part of town. No longer is it necessary to travel to Toronto’s north end to sample the Italian-Canadian staples served up at Paese—its new Entertainment District location offers a seasonal selection of favourites in a contemporary setting, featuring butcher-block tables, exposed brick and designer light fixtures. And just a few blocks away, on Queen Street West, fans of traditional French fare can clamor for a table at a second La Palette. The intimate bistro features classics like confit of duck legs ($26), steak frites ($28) and, yes, horse tenderloin ($34).
