SEPTEMBER 25 TO NOVEMBER 27  Earlier this year the music industry welcomed the return of the thin white duke as David Bowie released his first album in 10 years. Now the art world gets its chance to celebrate the icon. Organized by London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, the expansive David Bowie Is exhibition brings to the Art Gallery of Ontario 300-plus objects—costumes and stage designs, album art, candid photographs and much more—that highlight the mercurial performer’s influence on fashion, art, theatre, film and music over the past five decades. Bowie spent his career morphing from from one persona to the next; this retrospective demonstrates how each artfully adopted character ended up comprising a man in full.  —Craig Moy
