This month’s Contact festival has us in a photographic frenzy. But the best shooters aren’t always found in art galleries. Follow these Torontonians on Instagram to get some of the greatest views of the city.

@smaku  Designer and creative director Taku Kumabe shoots Toronto landscapes, many along the waterfront. He’s got a great eye for sunrises and sunsets, too.

@shawnmicallef  The noted urbanist walks Toronto (and other cities), capturing some of its lesser-known but still storied spaces. Periodic pics of his dog, the “Young Citizen,” too.

@agotoronto  The Art Gallery of Ontario’s official feed offers a behind the scenes perspective on its shows and events, while sharing third-party photos that use its exhibition-specific hashtags.

@jayscale  This prolific shooter has a distinct style (high-definition, but with a muted palette) but his photos are varied, capturing the city from sky high, at street level and everywhere in between.

@roof_topper  Per his handle, this photographer’s stock-in-trade is shooting Toronto from above. Whether or not you agree with how he gains access to the city’s rooftops (private property, for the most part), the results certainly offer a rare vantage point.

@streetartintoronto  Though not as active as it once was, this feed posts photos of interesting graffiti found throughout the city.

@kitechaser  Ethan Yin does right by the subdued, faux-vintage VSCO aesthetic with his varied images of Toronto’s streets and buildings. Bonus: cat photos!

@suresh  Writer and food-event organizer Suresh Doss’s Instagram account is notable for its exclusive focus on video. You’ll be amazed at how much flavour he crams into each 15-second clip.

@acqtastemag  Evocative food and drink photos plus candid snaps of Toronto chefs are offered up with regularity by Chuck Ortiz, founder of boutique publication Acquired Taste.

@tonoariki  The geometry and patterns inherent in Toronto’s architecture is a unifying element in this photographer’s otherwise diverse stream.

@tahaphoto  Taha Muharuma’s #streetsoul feed offers a substantial dose of urban imagery. His night shots and occasional black and white photos are particularly striking.

@thankyoutoronto  This account curates compelling T.O. images from all over Instagram. It’s also an apparel company that seeks to aid the city’s homeless.
