Winnipeg Restaurant Scene Welcomes Three Stunning Newcomers

Winnipeg Restaurant

A dish at Inferno’s on Academy, which just opened its second Winnipeg restaurant location

The Winnipeg restaurant landscape is getting more exciting every month, with hot new dining options breaking culinary ground throughout the city. Here, we recommend three new Winnipeg restaurant options that are decidedly different, but absolutely worth trying.

• At Arkadash, Mediterranean tastes culled from the cuisines of Morocco, Turkey, France and Spain rule a menu that is unique among Winnipeg restaurants. 269 Portage Ave, 204-504-2155.

• Chef Mandel Hitzer of deer + almond delights diners with his playful cooking style and passion for sourcing international ingredients. These two qualities combine with excellent results in dishes such as ultra fresh miso sesame cucumber salad, and the “potato and egg”—a medley of purple potato, tart horseradish, trout roe and furikake. 85 Princess St, 204-504-8562.

• Any Winnipeg restaurant fan is probably familiar with Inferno’s on Academy (pictured). The local French bistro brand has just opened a second location, offering a whole new menu of stellar dishes to explore, like duck confit spring rolls with onion marmalade. 414 Academy Rd, 204-475-7400.
