The summer issue of Where Canadian Rockies is almost all wrapped up and ready to hit stands! We thought we’d introduce our wonderful contributors who live and play in these mountains:
Our summer magazine editorial intern, Olivia was a fantastic addition to our team. We miss her around the office!
In addition to being a stellar writer and communications professional, Olivia is a Calgarian who loves having the Rockies in her backyard. This summer, after summiting Ha Ling Peak or Mount Yamnuska she plans to savour a house made brew on the Grizzly Paw patio.
Jen arrived in Canmore the year the town got its first traffic light, and after almost two decades, she still feels pretty darn lucky to live here. She indulges in a long list of mountain activities, from snowboarding to gardening, with varying degrees of aptitude – but plenty of enjoyment. You can find Jen sipping a cold cider on the Rose & Crown patio.
Robyn is a photojournalist based in Banff. When not taking photos, she loves skiing, hiking, climbing and mountain biking. Robyn is passionate about being in nature and loves being able to document every moment. Her favourite scramble is Hole in the Wall – it’s challenging, with diverse terrain leading to an exciting destination.
Whitney is a writer and filmmaker whose love of exploring the mountains is unhindered by her lack of coordination. You’ll often find her coming home from a backpacking trip or trail run wearing a few new bruises and a big silly grin. Favourites have included Mount Assiniboine and Lake Minnewanka.
John has lived in Jasper for 10 years, working in the restaurant and tourism industries, including Parks Canada. He loves the small town’s mountain views, food and trails. His favourite bike ride is the Valley of the 5 Lakes Loop. John also writes for our Jasper Dining Guide.
