You don’t have to stay at the Fairmont to play at the Fairmont. Have a great day at the Chateau Lake Louise:

1. Start with the breakfast buffet at Poppy Brasserie, while you admire the morning light on the mountains through big windows.

2. Next, rent skates and glide into the ice castle with Victoria Glacier as your backdrop.

3. Warm up as you browse the hotel’s shops before a light lunch or Afternoon Tea at Lakeview Lounge.

4. Then, tour the lake on one of North America‘s “top 10 horse-drawn sleigh rides” or join a Mountain Adventure Program guide for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.

Editor’s note (bonus tip): If you want to venture further into Lake Louise village, have dinner at Mountain Restaurant. They offer a winter pizza menu; the most popular choice is BBQ chicken and bacon. Ask about their weekly feature, too. The warm dough and sauce, both made fresh in-house, contribute to making these pies an irresistible cold-weather meal.
