Plastic bottle boat crosses the Pacific

The Plastiki, a boat assembled out of 12,500 plastic bottles, completed its trip across the Pacific Ocean on Monday, arriving in Sydney, Australia with its six-man crew 130 days after it departed from San Francisco, California. The reason for boat’s voyage was to raise awareness about marine pollution.

World’s largest indoor theme park

The United Arab Emirates continues to raise the bar for structural development among nations. In October, the city of Abu Dhabi will open Ferrari World, the world’s largest indoor theme park at 200,000 sq. metres. The main draw of the park will be the rollercoaster, which, reaching speeds of 240 km/h in less than five seconds, will be the world’s fastest.

Montreal hotel encouraging green travel

Montreal’s Le Centre Sheraton is now offering a unique way to see the city during the summer. The BIXI (Montreal’s public bike system) package combines a single or double occupancy room fee with the option for two to ride a complimentary BIXI bicycle around the city up to four hours per day.
