Every Friday we feature an inspirational travel photo of a Canadian destination taken by one of our readers.
Why we chose it: The photographer claims to have set the ISO too high on this shot, so apparently this result is serendipitous. The composition is excellent—leaving two-thirds of the image to open sky is a perfect choice. And though the infrared filter likely amplifies the crispness, the blues and the otherworldly look of the trees, it doesn’t give the image that false, over-manipulated look common in infrared shots. It’s believable that the blind eye might actually see this in nature.
