A new tool at iFlyBags.com allows quick and easy baggage allowance and fee calculations for various airlines. Enter your departure and arrival airports and the airline, and you get a list of baggage allowances, down to tips for transporting your javelin. It also alerts you to any fees, once you enter your itinerary and weight, number and size of bags. It’s a handy way to pull up baggage allowance info, which can be a pain to find on an airline’s website, and it makes comparing baggage fees a cinch.
Porter Airlines isn’t included in the drop-down airline menu, but Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing, Air Transat, Canadian North, First Air and CanJet are, along with more than 300 global airlines.
The tool was created by travel-tech company Farelogix, which is planning an iPhone app (ETA December). Android and Blackberry apps may follow.
