Pet owners can be a bit…obsessive when it comes to their dog/cat/iguana/hamster/labra-puggle-doodle. (Case in point.) But is choosing to spend a holiday with your dog rather than your husband or wife a new breed of crazy?
In a recent survey by travel Web site TravelSupermarket, a third of British pet owners asked said they would rather take their holiday with their pet than their immediate family. It’s not only significant others who play second fiddle to Fido: 10 per cent of respondents said they’d choose their pet over their children as vacation companions.
Additionally, 47 per cent of pet owners said they miss their pet the most (more than their family) while they’re away on vacation.
About 39 per cent of pet owners actually do travel with their pet and 18 per cent bring them a souvenir after their trip.
