Air Canada Raises Rates for Checked Baggage

Air Canada has announced new checked baggage fees, in an effort to offset high fuel prices.

Flying to the U.S. will now see you paying $25 for your first checked bag when flying economy, and $35 for your second checked bag, each way.

For flights within Canada, the first bag is still free with the second bag garnering a fee of $20 (per direction).

For many international flights now, while your first bag is still free, the second will cost $70 each way (for flights booked after June 1, 2011).

You can read more about the fares, at aircanada.com.
