4. Eek Fest | June 4 & 5
From the casual geek to the devoted nerd, there’s something for everyone at this comic expo. You’ll find vendors eager to chat about comic books, graphic novels, science fiction, gaming, anime, cartoons, pop culture, cosplay, and collectible toys. Practise surviving the Zombie Apocalypse by shooting zombies with a Nerf gun at the shooting range, or play a life-sized game of Angry Birds.

5. Improvaganza | June 15 – 25
Celebrate this festival’s Sweet Sixteen and be prepared to laugh until it hurts at Canada’s largest improv festival, where talented artists from all around the world will compete in a series of hilarious theatresports matches and host workshops.

6. Porkapalooza BBQ Festival & Concert Series | June 17 – 19
Over 30 BBQ chefs stake a claim in Clarke Park to be crowned the grilling champion! Among the aroma of roasting meats, you can enjoy food trucks, beer gardens, a marketplace, and a playground for kids! New this year, the meatfest will include a three-day concert series with headliners The Sheepdogs, Gord Bamford, and Loverboy!

7. Freewill Shakespeare Festival | June 21 – July 17
