Friday, September 28 TELUS Spark celebrates its first birthday with Monster Mash-up. This family-friendly special event will include a scavenger hunt, pumpkin decorating, face painting and a station for children trick out their Halloween costumes. This celebration is great for the whole family
Check out Alberta Culture Days 2012 Kick Off Tailgate Party from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. The evening will feature live music by Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, The Collective, Calgary Youth Chorus, Kugakai Lion Dance Team as well as b-boys Grim Reminder. Saturday, September 29 The CBC celebrates Alberta Culture Days and Calgary’s 2012 cultural capital status with a free concert at Olympic Plaza on Saturday from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. The evening will include musical performances by High Valley, Samantha Savage Smith and The Dudes.
Also, be sure to take part in a video shoot and flash mob recording of The Stampeder’s “Sweet City Woman.” The classic rock hit is the official anthem of Calgary 2012. The giant lip dub will take place at Olympic Plaza. If you are interested in making your music video debut and dancing the afternoon away, be sure to check in anytime between 10 am and 12 pm at City Hall atrium.
Head down to the Ramsay outdoor rink Saturday night for full moon movie night. FOOD IN SHORTS will feature short films and live entertainment based around the theme of food. The free event runs from 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm. The Ramsay outdoor rink is located at the corner of Ramsay Street and Margaret Avenue, 2040 Ramsay St SE. Remember to bring your own chair, blanket and flashlight.

Sunday, September 30 With Halloween just around the corner, be sure to check out the costume sale happening at the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts. Items for sale will include hats and shoes as well as vintage and retro clothing. The sale will take place in the lobby of the Martha Cohen Theatre at EPCOR CENTRE from 10 am to 7 pm. Cash only.
