On Friday, September 7 the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra presents a glimpse of its 2012 – 2013 season with Taste of the CPO. The concert will include a variety of performances, from Beethoven and Handel to the Hockey Night In Canada theme and the “Imperial March” from Star Wars. Guests will have the opportunity to meet CPO musicians before the show as well as to find special ticket offers. The show begins at 8 pm at the Jack Singer Concert Hall (205 – Eight Avenue SE).
The CPO’s season will be diverse. Featured performances will include its Scandanavian Masters concert and November’s War and Peace Festival. Several tribute performances will feature the music of Paul Simon and Nat King Cole as well as classic rock legends and the sounds of Motown. Music from The Fellowship of The Ring is sure to be hit for the family, as will the Symphony Sunday’s For Kids program.
Tickets for Taste of the CPO are available on the CPO’s website. – Adele Brunnhofer
